MEMBERSHIP
Servicemembers and veterans wishing to join the Sacramento Valley Veterans (SVV) are encouraged to become a member of American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER). You may, however, check out our events and what we are about first. If you would like to come onboard, you can go to the AVER Membership page. The following information gives the specifications on what becoming a member of AVER entails.
AVER membership is $35.00 and covers both national and chapter fees and includes the following benefits:
- You will receive the AVER National Newsletter – The Forward Observer
- Discounts at national events
- And more
PROOF OF SERVICE
To establish Veteran status, you must provide Proof Of Service. This must be a legible scan of your DD Form 214 – including for retirees. Scans/photocopies of non-expired DD Form 2 will only be accepted for those currently serving in one of the seven Uniformed Services. Image files up to 1MB can be attached at the bottom of the form.
You can bring your DD Form 214 or DD Form 2 to any Sacramento Valley Veterans function or send it to AVER National at:

HOW TO JOIN
There are a couple of ways you can join the Sacramento Valley Veterans and American Veterans for Equal Rights:
- Go to the AVER Membership page, fill out the application, and submit your information electronically
- Download the application for printing, fill it out and bring your DD Form 214 and fee to any SVV function
